A homeowner in Canton, CT contacted us when their garage door stopped opening and began making a severe grinding noise.
Upon arriving at the property, our technician inspected the garage door opener assembly. We discovered that the unit was 32 years old and that the sprocket had completely worn out, which caused the grinding sound and prevented the door from functioning properly.
Because of the age of the system and the condition of the worn sprocket, we recommended replacing the old equipment. The homeowner agreed with the assessment and chose to upgrade to a new smart LiftMaster garage door opener (model 2240). We completed the replacement, ensuring the door operated smoothly and reliably once again.
