• The door jumped the track after a bumper tap, a bike, or a failed roller — it hangs crooked or is jammed part-way.

What causes this problem?

A door leaves its track for one of three reasons: something hit it (a vehicle, a bike, a mower), a roller failed and let the door wander, or a cable came off its drum and pulled one side up unevenly. The repair is never just "push it back in": we put the door back on its rails, replace the worn or broken rollers that let it wander, check the lift cables and drums, and straighten or replace the bent track section. On extension-spring doors we check the pulleys as well, because a worn pulley is often what stressed the cable in the first place.
